First we spend some time discussing your current symptoms, how you are feeling physicaly and emotionally and the goals intentions for your session.
You will relax during most of your session on a comfortable massage table. I ensure that you are warm by having pillows, heated pad and blanket available. Music is played in the background to unwind and focus on the changes occurring in your body.
Listen to your body, and make yourself comfortable.
It is helpful to focus on your breathing as it helps relaxing the mind, the nervous system and oxygenate your body tissues.
Many people just close their eyes and relax completely during a session; others prefer to talk. It’s your time, and whatever feels natural is preferred. Don’t hesitate to share / talk at any time, or just fall asleep.
You may undress at any level of comfort for YOU.
Some clients choose to remove clothing for swedish / deep/ myofascial sessions a they require direct contact with the skin with oil. Some chose to stay half-dressed.
I only uncover the area I work on and make sure the sheets always drapes around you. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask.
Bodywork can be profoundly relaxing, give yourself a moment to re-orient before slowly getting up from the massage table, or taking the wheels.
Most people feel very relaxed and experience freedom from aches and pains that have built up over months of tension or repetitive activity.
After an initial period of feeling slowed down, people often experience an increase in energy and heightened awareness which can last for several days after your session. You will likely feel subtle shifts over the following days, like:
Its also possible to have some soreness for 24h after a Deep tissue / Tigger point session. This is a normal response.
Just like regular stretching and exercise, the benefits of bodywork increases with regular attention to your body. As body-mind awareness is enhanced, you may find that you experience deeper relaxation and gains in overall wellness with each exercises and sessions.
